Grade II Listed Building in a conservation area
Built in c1860 as part of a prestigious shopping terrace, this Grade II listed building, previously used as offices was in a state of disrepair. The ground floor which houses a thriving retail unit remained fully functioning throughout the build.
Planning Approval and Listed building consent were obtained for the conversion of the upper floors to residential use. Negotiations with the Conservation Officer resulted in approval for 7 apartments including the insertion of a modern steel and glass mezzanine to form a studio apartment. The character of the building and listed features were retained whilst the building was upgraded to modern Building Regulation standards.
