Winford Cattle Market

Commercial

The market opened at its current location in the 1970`s after moving from Winford town centre due to pollution concerns. The market was closed down in 2002 after travel restrictions were imposed on livestock following the foot and mouth epidemic. Various uses were tried for the empty site , including off site car parking for the expanding Bristol Airport. With this use drawing opposition from the Planners, consent for a B1, B2 – B8 useclass was approved. An extensive project of refurbishment and renewal was undertaken. Today phase II of the site is underway and phase I is successfully let to local businesses.
