Clifton Arcade

CommercialHeritage

After 120 years as a storage warehouse this unique building in Clifton was re-invented for the purpose originally intended. The arcade was a building at risk and large areas had become derelict and unsafe.

The scheme included the restoration of the shopping arcade and the reinstatement of the glazed roof. Also the Victorian terrace was completely re-built. Now, after some 20 years the building is an important part of Clifton heritage and has brought vitality back to the area.

Breathing life into old buildings involves careful and sensitive design work and the Arcade can now continue to provide interest and enjoyment for visitors to Clifton
